Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks — You’ll Never Walk Alone

Okay in my honest opinion, and I love Jordin, she held a flat note in the end. However, I am now absolutely convinced that Idol is doing everything in their power now to make Jordin the winner of American Idol. She does have the curly hair. That prediction still holds true. Go Jordin! I’ll support you!

* * *

And there you have it ladies and gentlemen: the most boring show American Idol has ever produced in 6 years. Can we call it? Has American Idol officially jumped the shark? Unless of course that “shocker” Ryan just announced is something else. We’ll see.

Phil Stacey — The Change

I think if Phil had some hair, he probably would be more marketable. He has a good tone to his voice.

LaKisha Jones

LaKisha Jones — I Believe

Arghh! I hate the fillers. Am I a bad person? Or I just completely resent the fact that Idol is using us? I’ve been helping people all my life, I don’t need this show to shove it down my throat. If you want to give $5 million, give $5 million. Viewers votes should have nothing to do with it. That’s not generosity. That’s marketing. I hate it.

LaKisha sings another former Idol song. And she butchers it. No one can touch my Fantasia, I’m sorry.

Chris Richardson — Change the World

Go Cake! Unbelievable pimping now for Chris Richardson.

While reading the conspiracy theory threads tonight, they say the pattern is for a Chris-Jordin final. They said that after the trashing of Chris last week, they will be all praises tonight.

Is it me or is this show so saaaad without Teen Pop Sensation Sanjaya Malakar?

Go Cake!

Chris Sligh vs. Ricky vs. Rickey — American Idol Behind the Scenes Drama 8

Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 07:02 PM | American Idol 6, Chris Sligh

Funny how my good name has been dragged into this. All the blog posts have been deleted, but I was able to piece together what happened thanks to the guys at televisionwithoutpity. And of course, I am posting everything here since I love this stuff. Hahaha.

Basically, Chris Sligh went into a blog-war with Ricky, the famous spoiler kid from idolforums. Ricky revealed that Sligh had been the source for some spoilers this season and Sligh publicly denied it. Unfortunately, instead of referring to Ricky (without an E) in his posts, Sligh attacked Rickey (with an E) and thus confusing the hell out of people reading blogs, message boards and e-mail all throughout the Internet.

So let’s get it straight:

Chris Sligh — American Idol 6 castoff has beef with Ricky (see below)

Ricky Hoe Guardian — idolforum user, famous for accurate spoilers on Top 24 finalists and song choices, has beef with Sligh (see above)

Rickey — the awesome blogger from rickey.org who is all about love has nothing to do with anything, since he is currently away living 24/7 in the Universe of Teen Pop Sensation Sanjaya Malakar (hahaha, just got to get that in there)

You can read about all the drama here. Some highlights:

Sanjaya Malakar — It’s Over. 120

Wednesday, April 18, 2007, 10:03 PM | American Idol 6, Sanjaya Malakar

Sanjaya Malakar

The greatest run in American Idol history has ended.

Here he is, Sanjaya Malakar, just a normal kid with a background so typical of many youths today — a family with divorced parents, living day to day in an increasingly difficult world — thrust into the spotlight on the most popular show on Earth — and he shines. He became the most talked about Idol in the 6-year history of the show, and he held himself with dignity in the face of relentless adversity. There is so much we can learn from how Sanjaya handled himself on this show.

It pains me to think that there are so many of you out there who so wanted to take Sanjaya’s smile away and have him cry like he did tonight. Some of you even wanted his fans to get crushed. This is just a reminder of how cynical our society has become these days. We could use a lot more Sanjaya’s in the world — fearless, passionate, joyful. We knew exactly who Sanjaya was on this show. And he gave us everything he could possibly give in his performances. Some of you may have found it funny or a travesty, but he gives me hope.

I wouldn’t be blogging about American Idol for 3 years now if it was merely a singing competition. It is about rooting for the singer we are most greatly attached to, not finding the best “vocalist” — it’s always clear who that is on Day 1. Every one of the contestants who have appeared on this show has been cast to appeal to all sorts of tastes in American society, be it the little girls, middle-aged women, or male doctors who like to look at legs. I am not surprised that in this blog, people have found common ground with others via the Idols they admire.

This year, in Melinda Doolittle, those who have stayed in the sidelines too long in search of a second chance finally have someone to root for. I think she will win. But whoever does win in a few weeks will only be an afterthought in Idol mythology. American Idol Season 6 already belongs to Sanjaya.

Sanjaya Forever!

(Please give me a few moments as I wipe the tears away.)

Simon Cowell, Chris Richardson — Virginia Tech Controversy 40

Wednesday, April 18, 2007, 03:30 PM | American Idol 6

Simon Cowell

Yup. Simon did raise his eyebrows after Chris Richardson’s remarks about Virginia Tech. Also, Chris was given the go ahead to say his feelings about the tragedy since Seacrest knew what Chris was about to say and told him to say it quickly. Boo Simon. We love you but you were extra bitchy last night, and the whole cynicism was uncalled for. Simon did say something during Blake’s critique for damage control which I accept as sincere.

Damn. American Idol is supposed to be fun. I don’t know how all this negativity has taken over the show. C’mon fans! Let’s bring the love back! I try my best every week to make it fun for everyone, but some guys just take this way too seriously in a bad way.

Go Sanjaya! Go Cake! Go Nasal!

American Idol Results Prediction 04/18/07 28

Wednesday, April 18, 2007, 09:44 AM | American Idol 6

Sanjaya Malakar

My prediction for the Bottom 3:

Sanjaya Malakar — I’m psyching myself up to say, should Sanjaya be eliminated tonight: Well you won’t have Sanjaya to kick around anymore! Good luck in getting buzz for yourselves while Sanjaya does the talk show circuit. Alas, this could be the unceremonious end. What day do the idols appear on Regis?

Factors for elimination: Performance issues. Simon hates him. Aside from Fantasia, Rickey’s absolute favorites, always get eliminated.

Phil Stacey — Dialidol is predicting that Phil Stacey was the most popular Idol last night. It looks like dialidol may have lost it finally. I find this result hard to believe — he led from the start of ET voting up to the end. Really? I thought the Southern vote was going to Melinda… we shall see.

Factors for elimination: Singer #1. Bottom 2 or 3 trend.

LaKisha Jones — For the second week, I am demanding a shock elimination. LaKisha can’t win this anymore, so might has well use her. She’s my prediction to leave. Just when everybody thinks it’s Sanjaya for sure finally, Seacrest announces it’s LaKisha. It’s a perfect scenario. (Now wasn’t that very Survivor-esque? LOL I just threw one of my early favorites under the bus in favor of another favorite). Seacrest make it happen! You want Sanjaya to stay on the show as much as I do.

Factors for elimination: Performance issues. It’s time.

The Top 7 eliminations in seasons past are the following: Ryan Starr, Kimberly Caldwell, Jennifer Hudson, Anwar Robinson and Ace Young. Who’s next?

Trade notes after the show! Go Sanjaya!

American Idol Recap

I’m depressed now, so I will be brief and go to bed early. It seems that after everything he’s done for them, the show is finally ready to throw Sanjaya under the bus. Simon showed no restraint tonight in wanting Sanjaya out. I hope the Universe doesn’t end tomorrow.

Go Sanjaya! West Coast do your magic. The Universe of Sanjaya is in a state of panic right now, call all your friends and family to help save Sanjaya!
