American Idol: Help Raise Money for David Cook's Brother
Local Fan Wants Adam Cook to Attend L.A. Finale
MYFOXNY.COM -- A local American Idol fan has set up a special
Web site to help raise money to bring contestant David Cook's
brother to the Idol finale in May. Cathy Wood of New York
created HelpBringAdamBack.com. Her goal is to raise the $80,000
it would cost to fly Adam Cook to California to root on his
brother. As any Idol fan knows, Adam is battling brain cancer.
Earlier this month, Adam was flown on a special medical
flight to Los Angeles from his hometown of Terre Haute, Indiana.
He and his wife were in the audience to watch David perform
on the American Idol stage on April 15th and 16th.
Many are predicting that the final could come down to a
match-up between David Cook and David Archuleta. If that
happens, Cathy Wood is hoping that Adam Cook can make the
trip to L.A. again to support his brother.
David Cook has peppered his performances this season with
references to Adam. The initials "AC" on his guitar
are for Adam. And in one episode, he tweaked Mariah Carey's
original lyrics from "We will linger on" to "You
will linger on," according to MTV.
Cathy Wood has set up a special benefit account at a bank
in Indiana to accept donations to help Adam pay for another
medical flight.
"Imagine how happy everyone will be to see the two
brothers reunited the last time David Cook performs on American
Idol, and to know that fans helped to make this happen," Cathy
says.
