Clay Aiken says current batch of American Idols 'not good'

Spamalot star and former American Idol runner-up the talented
and not gay Clay Aiken has said he is not 'impressed' with
this years contenders for the American Idol crown.
Aiken, probably the most successful and most talented American
Idol contestant is disappointed by the current standards. "I
wish them all luck" said the straight Aiken "but
versatility is the key. Look at me. I am not just a singer.
I am on Broadway. I have branched out. Could they be on Broadway?
I doubt it."
Aiken, who says he has little interest in the show, does
keep abreast of the contenders. "Obviously I have some
interest in the show. They all want to be the next 'Clay'" smiled
the star "They won't of course. I am unique. They won't
be as good as me." said Clay, his smile disappearing.
"I like Michael Johns though" said Clay "Maybe
we could do a duet or something after he wins." laughed
Clay.
But Clay became serious for a moment with a very valid point.
"I think it would be nice if a gay person won idol,
or at least got into the last 10. A gay person has never
got to the final. I think that maybe if someone who was homosexual
or maybe confused about their sexuality made it then it would
really help others....confused about their sexuality. Someone
who maybe, just maybe, is hiding a secret, despite everyone
else knowing it, but just refuses, absolutely refuses to
admit it. A poor soul lost in his demons who knows there
is nothing to be ashamed about but just doesn't want to disappoint
his Claymates...,erm,... I mean fans" said the singer,
who is not, never has been and never will be a 'knob jockey'.
